朝からいやなニュースをみてしまった。

日本とドイツでは発売(発売中止？）されないとかなんとか。
うーん。輸入しかないのかなこれ。
発売日がいつまでたっても公式に出てこないから不安だったんだが・・・こんなことになるとは。

A Microsoft spokesperson has said that the eagerly anticipated Gears of War 2 will not be released in Germany or Japan.

The reasons why the game will not be released are not known but in May, Germany’s ratings organisation, the USK refused to give the game a certificate. This probably shouldn’t come as a big surprise – after all Germany have being trying, so far unsuccessfully, to ban all violent video games throughout Europe for some time.

We can confirm that Gears of War 2 will not be available in Germany or Japan indefinitely.

We’re mystified as to why the game won’t be released in Japan. Gears of War sold over 30,000 copies in it’s first week of release. But we’re struggling with this word ‘indefinitely’. Does this mean the game will be released eventually? With some stipulations?

Update: Evidently this story is causing waves within Microsoft. A spokesperson has contacted us to “clarify” that “no announcement has been made” about plans for Gears of War 2 in Japan.
